Arriving in Malaysia

We have now docked at Port Kelang, which is 38 km south-west of Kuala Lumpur. The ship cruised slowly up a wide river which appears to be lined with mangroves. Whatever the vegetation is, it is great to see what looks like pristine bushland. Our ship’s newsletter tells us that KL is “  . . . the only city in the world to have a million-year-old primary forest within the heart of the city.” I do wish I could have seen that.

It is lovely and sunny and not nearly as steamy as Singapore, so shortly I will have a go at walking around the decks to get my lungs working. I have now added a couple of photos to to the collection I am sending taken from the deck at the port.

Dawn on the way into Singapore - you can just make out some of the many ships heading into Singapore with us.

Making our way to the dock

My limited view of Singapore.

The Malay performers.

Singapore at night just before we departed.

Port Kelang. The mangroves were across the river on the other side at some distance.

Another view of the port.

Out on the promenade deck looking at the port.
